Welcome to our new Association Building

Teo Ann Huay Kuan was formed in 1964. In 1980, the association bought a building at 857 Serangoon Road as its new premises. But five years ago, it was acquired by the government to make way for the construction of the North-East MRT Line. Under the leadership of our previous president, Mr. Eng Liat Kiang, the association managed to get compensation amounting to $5.9 million from the Land Office.

In 2000, the association moved back to its old premises at 25 Bukit Pasoh Road after refurbishing it at a cost of $600,000. The same year, Teo Ann Huay Kuan bought a piece of free-hold land(500 sq metres) in Lorong 8, Geylang for $3.2 million. The new association building is estimated to cost $3.6 million including additional fixtures, fittings and setting up a maintenance fund.

Today, work on the association building is at its final phase. The new building will be seven-storey high, with a carpark on the ground level. The second level will be the auditorium and the third level houses the offices meeting rooms. A karaoke room, a gymnasium as well as computer and billiard rooms have been planned for the fourth level. The fifth level will be equipped with a multi-purpose hall where meetings and classes on Chinese art and calligraphy can be held. A room on the same level will also be reserved for use by our affiliated Teo Ann co-op village associations that currently have no premises of their own. Levels six and seven will be used as an ancestal prayer hall and rooftop will facilitate the conduct of taiji classes and practices. When the new Teo Ann Huay Kuan building is completed, it will surely be one which all members can be proud to call their own!
